About OTSO

"OTSO" is the abbreviation of "On The Shoulders Of". But OTSO is also Finnish for "Bear", which coincides with my first name "Björn", which is "Bear" in Swedish. But why the heck "On The Shoulders Of"? In science, "On the shoulders of giants" is a common saying, meaning that any new scientific work builds heavily on the work done before. And the same goes for any modern track or mixtape, which rests on the shoulders of countless artists from past decades.

As a bedroom mixtape and music producer and aspiring Ecstatic Dance DJ I heavily rely on this rich legacy of music in all kinds of genres (see bottom of this page). My first mixtapes and tracks date back to the early 90s, produced in a very basic home studio. In the mid 90s was my first peak of music making. In the 00s and 10s I was occasionally producing mixtapes. Since 2020 I re-started music and mixtape producing. 2025 I prepare for getting an Ecstatic Dance DJ.
